We would like to introduce you to a brand that we discovered last year and we feel is a perfect fit for Really Wild.
The brainchild of Rhug Estate owners, Lord and Lady Newborough, Wild Beauty was created using sustainable ingredients from his organic farm in North Wales.
A unique story of security and provenance, their collection harnesses natural, wild foraged and organic ingredients with the benefits of natural actives. Their chosen ingredients contain vitamins and minerals, while fragrances are 100% natural and are made using essential oils.
We recently spent some time with Sue Newborough to talk about our shared passion for the Wild and learn more about her journey to Wild Beauty.
“I have always thought of myself being somewhat wild in spirit from a young age especially through the 70’s, 80’s and 90’s when I spent a lot of time travelling the world and having the most amazing time working hard and playing hard. In more recent times, I got my helicopter pilots licence age 65! On my first solo flight I went round the wrong way, got totally lost and the poor instructor was yelling in my earphones to tell me where I was but I couldn’t hear him through total shock and nerves. Eventually I found the runway, did a perfect landing and then went on to do a perfect test a month later and got my licence!”
“When I married my husband, I encouraged him to go down the organic route because it seemed logical that what you eat was important and also to the environment. Eating healthy food and using organic skin care produced in a sustainable way must be beneficial for your body and the environment.
Clean beauty is all to do with having a healthy lifestyle and to live in this part of beautiful Wales on an organic Estate has been hugely beneficial to both of us and we are very much influenced by everything that surrounds us; clean air, clear running streams, an abundance of wild life, happy animals and clover rich pastures.
I have always cared for my skin and am very sensitive to what I was putting on my body and face and the ingredients in my beauty products.
The name “Wild Beauty” seemed to capture everything we wanted to embrace into our skincare collection. We use ingredients off the Estate, organic crops, honey, beeswax, spring water and a whole host of Wild foraged ingredients. These are uncontaminated by artificial fertilisers and sprays and are sustainably harvested in a responsible and ethical way and have incredible skincare benefits.”
“As is the case with many of us, we were wilder in our younger days however I would say that I have been trendy but never outrageous. The Biba era was my favourite with “A” line short patterned dresses and white knee length shiny boots and beehive hair which was all the rage and absolutely me. Big earrings, long blonde hair; heavy make up and eye liner – I loved it!”
“My favourite Really Wild piece would have to be the boots! They are really stunning but also practical, living where I do, I need something that I can easily wear around the estate, but would equally be able to feel happy in for a nice informal dinner in London at the Ivy. I have been wearing them with my favourite jeans and the Ledbury jacket from the collection and the silk blouse. It is a piece you can dress up or down according to where you are, and I love that.”
Wild Beauty is everything we believe a brand should be and has created something truly exceptional in the world of beauty and skincare.
