RW’s Favourite Gardens To Visit
As Virtual #RHSChelsea coincides this year with #MentalHealthAwarenessWeek, the Royal Horticultural Society is encouraging people to share positive images of plants and beautiful gardens to lift our WILD spirits. As both organisations are very close to our hearts, we felt it was only right to share our individual favourite British gardens and why. We may not be able to visit these gardens just yet, but it does help paint a picture for our WILDEST imaginations to dream and feel uplifted.
The Garden At Cawdor Castle
“This stunning garden at Cawdor Castle, which I visited last year, has to be one of my favourites set with the backdrop of the ancient castle and the tall gated old stone garden wall surrounding the perimeter. The borders are expertly planted to create an informal profusion of wild, cultivated and rare exotic plants and trees. A sheer pleasure to stroll through and absorb all the wonderful blend of colours and fragrances. The sculptured stone sphere waterfall I particularly loved, as it enhanced the mood of tranquility to the garden. A real chance to indulge all the senses leaving one feeling utterly at peace with the world!”

Shropshire Family Garden
“My favourite garden is my parents. They live on the border of Wales in Shropshire with views that stretch across to the Welsh mountains so it brings back fond memories whenever I visit them which is sadly not very often. Being in their garden brings me a great sense of nostalgia of my childhood and where I grew up where we were taught everything there is to know by my father about the British WILD. It is very rural there with miles of countryside and vast views of fields and beautiful skies. I don’t get home enough but when I do It takes me straight back to my years at school where the garden was a sort of sanctuary for me and my siblings. Being in the WILD brings me enormous inspiration in particular for Really Wild which being in PR & Marketing is a great help to me!”

Edinburgh Botanical Gardens
Whenever I go home to Edinburgh, I always make sure I visit Edinburgh Botanical Gardens. Every visit is different throughout the year, which makes every visit so very enjoyable. Simply put the garden is a miniature Eden in the heart of Edinburgh with over 13,302 plant species and almost 273,000 individual plants. I love to go for a WILD wander, observe the beauty of the magnificent flowers, or even just escape here to enjoy a good book with the beautiful plants around me. I truly treasure my visits to the Botanical Gardens and I am certain you will too.

Painswick Rococo Garden
Painswick Rococo Garden in ‘the south Cotswolds’ is my favourite garden. It’s a place to Escape, Explore, and Imagine. I used to visit with my grandparents and cousins as it’s a garden for adventure. I remember visiting the Snowdrop grove. It’s beautiful to see, as they have over 5 million of them in the orchard. My memories of spending beautiful Summer days exploring and playing hide and seek, the scent of the heritage Rose and Sweet Pea will stay with me forever. This is a place to forget the stresses of everything that is happening in the world today. It’s a place for children to have fun and for everyone to relax, to restore, and to rediscover.
