Behind the Scenes | AW.20

Our AW20 photoshoot was originally planned to take place in the middle of March when the weather reflected that true winter mood. However, due to the infamous Corona Virus, our photoshoot plans were put on hold and we sadly missed the crisp winter season to shoot our new AW20 collection. After waiting patiently for the all-clear from the government, and after many, many cancelled proposed photo shoot dates, we eventually held a very socially distanced, Corona Virus protocol approved, winter photoshoot in the height of summer.

PART 1: The English Countryside

For part 1 of our AW20 photoshoot, we escaped to Henley, not too far from our Marlow boutique. The stunning English countryside and all it’s raw and wild glory formed the location for this photoshoot, shooting amongst natures colours and WILD scenery. Our very quirky and British model, Laura Coleman, was the chosen face of our shoot and the perfect English rose for the countryside.

The AW20 country edit is inspired by the colours of the WILD. Our love of the great outdoors can be felt in every design.  Nature’s dark florals mixed with neat Liberty prints and plaid tweeds that embrace the spirit of the countryside, reminiscent of woodland walks and days spent outside.

We enlisted the talents of international fashion photographer, Oliver Pearce to capture the lifestyle of our WILD countryside woman. The outdoor location was not too far from Oliver’s home, so he knew the location inside out and all the perfect WILD spots for us to shoot.

We borrowed Nicole Smallwood, fashion director at Country & Townhouse for the day to bring her expert styling to the shoot. Nicole has been working as a stylist in London’s fashion industry for the past 15 years, 10 of which were spent at Marie Claire magazine and the past five as a freelancer working with many luxury brands, celebrities and editorial clients.

Celebrity hair and makeup stylists, Diana Larionov worked her magic on Laura’s face. Diana created that raw and natural make-up we all associate with the WILD.

Although we shot our AW20 collection on a summer’s day, to our delight we were blessed with 2 days of typical British gloomy skies, evocative of true winter weather – we couldn’t have asked for more! After two very long days of shooting amongst autumnal coloured cornfields to woodland pastures, we had successfully captured that country feel for part 1 of the collection.

PART 2 : THE HEART OF LONDON

Our passion is designing clothes to be really lived in; Clothes that move effortlessly between town and country, designed in colours and textures that match the familiar with the unexpected. Part 2 of our AW20 photoshoot took place in the heart of London, just a stone’s throw away from our Sloane Square flagship Boutique. Our beautiful Russian model, Lys Inger was the face of Really Wild city woman, capturing that city-cool mood we love and adore.

The morning started at our Sloane Square boutique where celebrity hair and make-up artist, Johnson Malone performed his stunning work on our model.  We then kick-started our first location shot at the very well known Sloane Square, amongst the busy cars, red buses and passing shoppers. This was our founders favourite shot, for encapsulating that city, on-move atmosphere.

We then maneuvered our crew around nearby pockets of Chelsea, where our #REALLYWILDWOMEN are often found exploring. From shopping on the streets of Sloane Street to lunch dining in the beautiful restaurants and pubs on Elizabeth Street.

After a very busy day shooting in the city, we ended our photoshoot at the iconic Albert Bridge. The city setting worked perfectly with AW20 collection. Another successful day indeed!
